Generosity Manifests as Blessings

In my last post, I spoke of God’s faithfulness in multiplying your gifts, with a promise to share in more detail. I have been anxiously waiting to post the details because your gifts keep rolling in!

As I mentioned before, the Lord laid it on my heart to create a gift registry of material needs. In doing so, I knew a few people would donate, but I’m blown away by your generosity!! Each of you sent what you could and it will manifest in so many blessings!!

The material needs ranged from reading glasses for the elderly to tennis balls and sweet gifts for kids! The shear volume speaks for itself!

  • Reading glasses: 75 pairs

  • Crayons: 72 packs

  • Colored pencils: 84 packs

  • Bouncy balls: 400

  • Tennis balls: 120

  • Stickers: 3000

  • Scissors: 100

  • Party favor toys: 2000 pcs

  • Pencils: 576

  • Coloring books: 100

  • First aid kits: 32

  • Pencil sharpeners: 288

  • Matchbox cars: 200

  • Tithe donations: $150

When the Lord laid this on my heart, I thought “ok I’m sure we can get some crayons, colored pencils and reading glasses together”. But when I created the wish list, the Lord reminded me to not restrain your generosity with my smallness. So when I made the list, I swung BIG! Like REAL BIG! And guys, the blessings keep coming!

But I have to be fully transparent - it didn’t start off that way. The first few days I was actually struggling with disappointment at just how slow the registry was taking off. For a few days, only a couple people saw my post and only a few visited the registry. I thought “Lord, if this is truly what you want, then why are they not showing up?” Then conviction hit. I hadn’t shown up either. I hadn’t purchased anything either! He said “Even if no one else shows up, what are you willing to give?” So I went to work and the day my purchase arrived, so did the others! If you aren’t familiar with the parable about “five fish and two loaves”, I pray you will take a few minutes to read about it in John 6:1-15. Sometimes when we are called to do great things, we feel utterly under-qualified, under-resourced, and unprepared. But God doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies the called! He just wants you to give what you DO have, and He will provide the rest, if you will just believe!
