We successfully completed our first work day here in Honduras! This year we are finishing the home of a local pastor that we’ve partnered with for 10 years. Today we primed the walls and hooked up the electricity throughout the house. I think I got more primer on me than I did the walls!

The rest of the crewed installed electricity throughout the house and welded window frames together. The windows look beautiful - I will share a picture tomorrow.

We enjoyed a picnic lunch where we shared stories of precious Honduras trips and spent time learning about one another. It has been beautiful to see how fast relationships flourish when you have no technology in front of you! one of the ladies in our group, Shannon (or Alena - her Spanish name), spent time with the kiddos in the area who wanted to be around us and wanted to interact. She is fluent in Spanish and teaches it as well, there God has reslly been using her gifts to bless the Hondurans and our team!

The next part was my absolute favorite moment thus far!!! Four years ago, our churches painted a local school and we brought down school supplies, bibles, balls, etc to bless the school. We made an impromptu visit to the school today just as school was letting out and the kids’ response absolutely blew my mind! They were SO excited to see us and were so grateful for the gifts we gave them! Check out the cross necklaces they are wearing! Trevor thought of making them for the kids on his 3D printer and they have been an amazing blessing to these kids! We have worn them multiple days in a row now!

After visiting the school, we drove around the corner to the local church where we were hosting Vacation Bible Adventure (VBA). The site of the school kids jumping on their bikes or running with us to the church was amazing!

During VBA, we had a puppet show (dancing to workshop music), a skit of Noah’s Ark and then outside activities! Everyone said the kids lost it when they saw the puppets and were up dancing and singing! I’ll share the video when I get a copy of it!

Our last stop of the day before dinner and the hotel, was to a well known bridge in the area. It’s a suspension bridge so it’s not for the faint of heart, but it was beautiful and amazing!

After dinner, we met in the open air lobby of our hotel (it feels like a patio), to discuss the beautiful moments of the day. So many stories were told! One of my favorites was the number of kids who ran up to be to give me a hug, say gracius (thank you) or tell me adios (goodbye). They love so innocently and have been such a blessing to me!

Tomorrow we will continue painting and finishing the electrical work and paint the entire house! We are so excited to see it come along with Pastor Freddy and his wife!

Until tomorrow… adios!
