What a way to start our journey!

Today was our first full day in country and our first Sunday. First thing this morning we met for breakfast, packaged mustard seeds to give our during Rob’s, our trip leader, talks today, and assembled the cross necklaces we made for the kids! I had a “traditional” breakfast and it was absolutely delicious!

Afterwards, we went to the first church our group began building in 2014, for our first service of the day. We were so blessed to see how much love and care they’ve put into the church. During worship, the kids sang a couple of songs and the authenticity moved us all to tears! The power of their belief came through, even though we didn’t understand the lyrics.

Once the service was over, we handed out the 3D printed necklaces we made for the kids and enjoyed Honduran tacos - again so delicious! The kids were SOO excited about the necklaces!! I couldn’t believe how big of an impact it had on the them!

Our next stop was the fire station who will receive the fire truck our church is donating! There were some delays with the transportation for the truck, so it’s not here yet, but the firefighters were SO excited to learn more about what their new truck will have. We have a retired firefighter with us and they showed pictures of all the gear and equipment they will receive with the truck. When the fire chief heard that there’s a slight possibility Trevor could fly their firefighter down, he was so excited! We had to capture his joy and a picture!

After the fire station, we drove 2 hours to our next location. Once we arrived, we attend an evening service with on of the other six churches we support. There were so many people! Our team leads were recognized by the local church for their dedicated and commitment with beautiful plaques. We also gave out necklaces and toys to the kids.

There was one little boy who captured my heart right away. His mom said it name is Orca, but I don’t know if I heard her correctly. He has an incredible laugh and smile and reminded me of my boys!

There were so many amazing moments today! We greeted people, we prayed over people, we prayed over more food than anyone needs in one day, and we shed a few tears of awe! Tomorrow we start the physical labor as we repair a local pastors home! I’m looking forward to sharing those moments with you as well!
Thanks you Destiny for continuing to share your magnificent journey with us. God is certainly blessing you for your faithfulness.
